[Hokkaido / Sapporo City] Concept Change for the Special Zone Announced

Hokkaido and the City of Sapporo are actively promoting Green Transformation (GX) alongside the concentration of next-generation semiconductors and data centers, which serve as the essential computing infrastructure for AI.

Recognizing that the future implementation of these GX and AI initiatives will require attracting investment on a scale greater than ever before, the local governments have revised the concept of their “Special Zone for Financial and Asset Management Businesses.” To clearly demonstrate the integrated promotion of GX and AI to financial institutions and businesses, and to strengthen collaboration among stakeholders, the zone has been officially renamed the “Hokkaido-Sapporo GX/AI Financial and Asset Management Special Zone.”
